We offer Senior Outdoor Education as modular learning options. What this means is:

  • All Students can access outdoor education in the senior school with-out having to commit to it in a subject line.
  • Students choose which modules they want to do, and only what they want to do.
  • Students can plan how much outdoor education they do based on; future vocational pathways e.g. want to be an outdoor instructor, other subject workloads, interest areas e.g. want to learn to kayak only, financial considerations.
  • Students can spread the learning over 3-4 years. (Years 10’s can access level 1 outdoor education modules)

The program is NZQA unit standard based and is Outdoor mark approved for safety. With high quality instructors and a huge pool of equipment, this continues to be one of the best outdoor programs in schools, in New Zealand.
